Yes, continue to be a bigot
Third Way has done a good thing by reaching out to the evangelical community to assure them that new hate crimes legislation will not result in preachers being prosecuted for calling homosexual an abomination or saying that homosexuals will burn in Hell.
Because, no, we don't want to prosecute people for their beliefs or their speech, only actions that harm others.
However, I should point out what Third Way can't: if you think that homosexuality is an abomination and that homosexuals will go to Hell, you're a bigot. Thinking that something's in your religion doesn't make it right, unbigoted, moral or any less stupid than it is.

I'm waiting with bated breath for your next post where you'll likewise condemn Islam for centuries of subjugation of women (even to this day) and physical persecution of homosexuals. I guess when it's a PC religion (in your eyes), it's okay to overlook those little details.
Okay... anyone who supports subjugating women or physically persecuting homosexuals is a bigot who should be condemned. "I follow Islam" is not an excuse.
Thing is, there's no credible, Islamic backed political movement in the US that's trying to turn its bigotries into law so I'm less concerned about them.
I agree with the above and I am a follower of Christ or Christian, who fits within some definitions of evangelical (there are multiple competing defn's).
I'd also say they're a fool to render the sorts of judgements that according to their sacred text only belong to God.
But it's also a matter of giving folks the right to be wrong and subverting their political solidarity on what most of them have been conned into thinking are "apolitical" issues by dialoguing with them in ways that treat their belief-commitments in the same way you'd prefer to have them treat yours.
